How We Rate Betting Apps

Every app on this site is installed and used by hand before it gets a score. We do not rate from store listings, press releases or operator claims. Each app is put on real phones, funded with real money, and used to place real bets. The score reflects what the app actually did in testing, not what the brand says it does.

We are an affiliate site. Some links are commercial. That does not change the score. The rating comes from the testing, and a commercial link never moves a number up.

The five blocks

Each app is scored across five blocks. Every block is marked out of 10 internally, then weighted. The weights reflect what matters most for a download-first app, so how the app performs counts for more than the size of a bonus.

Block Weight What it covers
App experience 30% Install route (APK, web app or store), build type, size, minimum OS, permissions requested, stability and speed in testing
Betting product 25% Sports covered, live betting, Bet Builder, Cash Out type, in-app statistics, streaming, Early Payout
Payments and withdrawals 20% Minimum deposit and withdrawal, methods accepted, withdrawal time and fees
Bonuses and promotions 15% Whether there is a genuine sports offer, wagering, qualifying odds, time limits
Trust and support 10% Licence status, operator transparency, package verification, support channels and response time

How the score is worked out

  1. Each block is marked from 0 to 10 from the testing notes and the extracted app data.
  2. The five marks are combined by weight (30, 25, 20, 15, 10), giving a single figure on a 0 to 10 scale.
  3. That figure is halved to give the public 0 to 5 rating you see at the top of each page.
  4. A reviewer may apply a small editorial correction of up to 0.3 either way, for things the blocks do not fully capture. The cap means the correction can nudge a score but never overrides the data behind it.

So a 3.1 out of 5 is a weighted result from five separate marks, not a single gut number.

Testing levels

Not every app is tested to the same depth, and we say so on each page. The label at the top of a review tells you which level applies.

Hands-on tested

The app was installed and run on our own six devices, funded with real money, and used to register, deposit, place a bet and check Cash Out. This is the strongest level and the one behind every review currently on the site.

Official-sources-checked

The app was not tested by hand. The information was cross-checked against the operator’s official site, its terms and conditions, and available listings. We are clear about this: the data has been verified, but no hands-on test was carried out.

Documentation-only

The page is built from available documentation alone, without access to the app itself. This is the weakest level, used for brands we have not yet reached for hands-on testing.

The devices we test on

Each app is checked across six phones, old and new, on both platforms:

  • Google Pixel 2 XL
  • Google Pixel 10 Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy S25
  • Samsung Galaxy A17
  • Apple iPhone 11
  • Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max

Testing on an older handset like the Pixel 2 XL shows whether an app still installs and runs on the phones people actually keep, not just the latest models.

What the score does not tell you

  • Where a welcome bonus is casino-only rather than a sports offer, we say so and do not count it as a sports promotion.
  • This is not financial or legal advice. Gambling carries risk. Only bet what you can afford to lose. See our responsible gambling guide.

Keeping ratings current

Each app is re-checked and the review is dated. The date at the top of every page shows the last time we tested it. Apps change, so a score reflects the app as it was on that date.
